Abstract

Research objectives: to determine the population of dominant forage species (%), land conservation information to increase the availability of livestock feed. Materials and methods: Identification of forage diversity using the Braun-Blanquet scale method. Dominant assessment forage species was determined by comparing the abundance and appearance of forage species. Phytosociological attributes of forage species were studied using a 0-100 m line transect at every 10 m interval. Specimens of each forage species were recorded in a plot with an area of 1 × 1 m square (n = 11). Where, one square meter makes 16 parts of 0.25 × 0.25 m sub-squares. Results: The number of forage species was 22 species, consisting of 12 grass species, 6 legume species, and 4 weed species. The population of grass species more than 75% consists of Axonopus compessus (85.71%), Para grass (82.14%), Bracharia decumbens (75.00%), Kyllinga brevifolia (75.00%), and clover, namely Centrosema Molle (78.57%). The comparison between the forage types consists of grass 57.77%, legumes 22.31%, and weeds 19.92%. The frequency of observation of forage height is 19.08 cm, green cover power is 66%. Conclusion: Axonopus compessus, Para grass, Bracharia decumbens, Kyllinga brevifolia, and Centrosema molle are dominant forages capable of increasing production, availability, development and forage conservation.
