Implementasi Sistem Budidaya Ayam KUB (Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan) Untuk Rintisan Usaha Yang Sustainable Di Kelompok Ternak Matra Farm

The Matra Farm livestock group out in 2015. Problems faced by partners include farmers not understanding the procedures for good livestock cultivation, especially poultry cultivation. The solutions offered are education on KUB (Kampung Unggulan Balitbangtan) chicken farming as superior local livestock in Jember Regency, dissemination of the KUB chicken cultivation model to increase the income of the Matra Farm livestock group, and training on livestock management systems to increase the production of the Matra Farm livestock group. This service activity supports the Jember State Polytechnic Service Master Plan 2021-2025, especially the Department of Animal Husbandry, namely the strategic issue of developing superior local livestock. In this training and dissemination activity, breeders were given 200 DOC (day old chicken) KUB chickens to try to start keeping them directly. Apart from DOC, breeders are also given brood stock and male KUB chickens in a ratio of 40: 5 chickens. This is intended so that breeders also start learning to carry out independent breeding, to overcome the problem of availability of DOC or KUB chicken seeds in the Jember area. With the hope that the results of this activity, the Matra Farm Livestock Group will be able to become self-sufficient in seedlings. Farmers also receive training regarding the manufacture and formulation of KUB chicken feed rations. This is considered important because the need for feed is the biggest factor in the process of raising poultry livestock. By being able to make efficient feed at relatively cheap prices, hope to be able to implement sustainable and profitable maintenance.
