This study aimed to analyze the role of Karangploso Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) on the development of dairy farming in Karangploso District, Malang Regency. The main focus of the study was to evaluate the contribution of KUD as a learning medium, production unit, business cooperation unit, and provider of dairy cattle farming technology in improving the quality and productivity of dairy farmers' businesses. This study used a quantitative approach with survey method and purposive sampling technique involving 120 dairy farmers who are members of KUD Karangploso as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the simultaneous and partial effects of each cooperative role on increasing the volume of milk production. The results showed that the three roles of KUD have a significant influence on the development of dairy farming, with the role as a production unit and access to technology being the most dominant variables. KUD provides essential facilities such as feed, vitamins, counseling, and cultivation technology as well as animal health that have a direct impact on increasing productivity. In addition, KUD also opens access to markets and business financing that strengthens the economic sustainability of farmers. Existing roles in Karangploso cooperatives such as the role as a learning medium, the role as a production unit and the role as a business cooperation unit has been very instrumental to the development of dairy farming in Karangploso.
