Perbedaan ras kambing PE Kaligesing dan PE Senduro terhadap pertumbuhan anak kambing mulai lahir-sapih

Abstract

The Etawa Crossbreed Goat (PE) is a local goat produced by crossing the Jamnapari goat with the Kacang goat, which consists of two breeds, namely PE Kaligesing and PE Senduro. The purpose of this study was to identify the size of the lamb of PE Kaligesing and PE Senduro goats in terms of birth weight, weaning weight, body length, height, chest circumference, and ear length. Observations were carried out for 2 months starting in October-December 2021. The materials used were 13 lamb of PE Kaligesing and PE Senduro goats each. The location was in the parent and child cages. Collecting data on this observation were in the form of primary data (weaning weight, body length, height, chest circumference, and ear length) and secondary data (birth weight). The results of the T-test showed that there was no significant difference in body size (P>0.05) of the kid of the PE Kaligesing and PE Senduro because the two breeds were the result of a cross between an Etawah goat and a Kacang goat. Based on statistical results, the body size of the PE Kaligesing kid (birth weight, weaning weight, body length, height, and chest circumference) was higher than that of the PE Senduro kid because the PE Kaligesing had two genetic components, namely Etawah and Kacang while PE Senduro had three genetic components. namely Etawah, Kacang, and Jawarandu. The Kaligesing PE kid has a body size that was superior to the Senduro PE kid.
