Abstrak

Chrysanthemum morifolium, commonly known as chrysanthemum, is a high-value ornamental plant that requires optimal cultivation management to produce competitive-quality flowers in both local and international markets. One of the critical components in its cultivation system is fertilization, particularly the use of potassium (K) fertilizers such as KNO₃ and MKP. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of various potassium fertilizer dosages on the growth and flower quality of cut chrysanthemum. A non-factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was employed with seven treatments and seven replications. The results showed that the application of KNO₃ at 5 g/L accelerated bud emergence and resulted in the largest flower diameter, while MKP proved more effective during the generative phase. These findings highlight the importance of phase-based fertilization strategies as a sustainable approach to chrysanthemum cultivation. The study also opens opportunities for further exploration into the use of micronutrients and nano-based fertilizer formulations.
