Pengaruh Berbagai Konsentrasi Kolkisin Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Perkembangan Krisan Potong Varietas Fiji (Chrysanthemum Morifolium)

Chrysanthemum is a popular ornamental plant and one of the cut flowers that has high commercial value in Indonesia. However, in its production, chrysanthemum flowers have decreased nationally. Colchicine is a chemical used to increase genetic diversity. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of colchicine on the growth and development of cut chrysanthemum plants of the Fiji variety. The study was conducted at the Teaching Factory Nursery and cut flower garden of the rembangan highland horticulture development, Jember State Polytechnic. from June to September 2024 using a completely randomized non-factorial design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatment levels, namely 0% (K0), 0.2% (K1), 0.4% (K2), 0.6% (K3), 0.8% (K4) each with 4 replications. The results showed that the application of various concentration levels of colchicine to cut chrysanthemums of the Fiji variety affected the growth and development of plants. The application of various concentrations of colchicine had a very significant effect on plant growth parameters, namely plant height and number of leaves. Application of various levels of colchicine concentration showed very significant results on plant height parameters at the ages of 2 and 4 weeks after planting, leaf number parameters at the ages of 2, 4, 8 and 10 weeks after planting. Similar things also happened to plant development parameters, application of colchicine with various levels of concentration had a very significant effect on flower diameter at the age of 10 weeks after planting and the time of emergence of the knob at the age of 4 weeks after planting.
