Abstrak

Harvesting is an important stage in oil palm cultivation. The purpose of this experiment is to find out the harvesting system of oil palm fresh fruit bunches. Data was collected by conducting field observations on 23 January 2019-20 April 2019 in Tanglo Gardens, PT Sari Lembah Subur, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The observations showed that the oil palm harvesting system used was a specialization system for harvesting workers and a mechanization system for transporting fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from the harvesting location (in the field) to the harvesting place (TPH). The in-field tool used is a transporter that can operate on peatlands and sloping lands. Harvesting is carried out with rotation of 6/7 with the criteria for mature harvest of 5 brondolan per dish on flat land and 1 brondolan on rolling land. Based on observations in the field found 6% rotten fruit, ripe fruit left in the tree 1%, unfinished disk 7.2%, and path (market pikul) incomplete 11%. By using a specialization system, the time needed for harvesters to reduce each FFB is 2.80-4.44 minutes, the realization of obtaining FFB using 226.2 longitudinal angkong, while using transporters 509.2 long can be obtained. The use of transporters can increase the efficiency of collecting FFB from in-field to TPH to more than double the use of angkong.
